Anger Management :: BMAD

The goal of anger management is to reduce both emotional feelings and the physiological arousal that anger causes. You can't get rid of, or avoid, the things or the people that enrage you, nor can you change them, but you can learn to control your reactions.

Our anger management program explores and is concerned about the source of chronic anger. You were not born with chronic anger. We can help you understand and appreciate the source of your anger; and help you reduce it. Then anger management can be effective... after reducing the source.

Chronic anger is serious liability that prevents healthy loving relationships, and is one of the foundations supporting addictive disease. BMAD clinical staff will help you explore the deep psychology that produces chronic anger. Chronic anger is a tremendous burden that can be put to rest allowing greater opportunity for joy and rewarding relationships.

If you are unsure if you have an anger problem you could start by asking those who are closest to you.

Be aware, however, that if your anger tends to be such that you fly off the handle when you don’t get responses that you want, your loved ones might be afraid to tell you the truth.

There are psychological tests that measure the intensity of angry feelings, how prone to anger you are, and how well you handle it. But chances are good that if you do have a problem with anger, you already know it. If you find yourself acting in ways that seem out of control and frightening, you might need help finding better ways to deal with this emotion.
